May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and National Association of Social Workers (NASW) are joining communities and organizations across the country to raise awareness about the millions of American families affected with a mental illness.

The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and the Cohen Veterans Network (CVN), a national not-for-profit philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the mental health care of veterans, have jointly published the Specialized Practice Curricular Guide for Military Social Work for social work programs and educators. The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2018 Professional Recognition Awards. The three awards are the Significant Lifetime Achievement in Social Work Education Award, the Distinguished Recent Contributions to Social Work Education Award, and the Service and Leadership in Social Work Education Award. Recipients will be honored during CSWE’s Annual Program Meeting, November 8–11, 2018, in Orlando, FL.

CSWE’s Annual Report highlights the activities and accomplishments of the organization for a complete fiscal year. The 2016–2017 Annual Report is now available online and shows key indicators in the areas of social work programs, membership, professional development, leadership, centers and initiatives, and administration.

The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) has been awarded a $150,000 grant from The New York Community Trust (NYCT), supporting third-cycle efforts in a Policy Practice in Field Education initiative to improve the capacity of social workers to address policy issues. Grant funds for cycles 1 and 2 of this initiative were awarded to CSWE in 2015. Read more.
