Darla Spence Coffey Has Come
Full Circle!
I am thrilled to extend greetings to the members of the Council on Social Work Education for the very first time as president. After years in higher education administration, I have come “full circle” back to social work, and I am delighted about that!
This newsletter provides a synopsis of current activities and upcoming events in CSWE and social work. In this 60th anniversary year of CSWE, I would also like to encourage you to check out the association's online “brief history” for a fascinating tour through key issues in the emerging social work profession, including links to early recruitment efforts.
Please keep in mind that Full Circle was developed to be a member benefit, so if there is a subject area that you would like to see featured, please do not hesitate to contact us. We hope you will enjoy the new design of the CSWE monthly member newsletter and find it useful in your professional work.

Happy Birthday, SSWAA
Eighteen years ago this month, the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) was formed in Edwardsville, IL, to further the professional development of social workers who serve students and families in school settings. Among its current activities, SSWAA is working on a national model of school social work and a document that defines highly qualified school social workers.
