The call for abstracts is open for the Inaugural National Summit on Promoting Well-being & Resilience in Healthcare Providers at The Ohio State University. Abstracts can be submitted here and are due Friday, March 30.
International Social Work Seeks Editor
International Social Work, the official journal of the International Association of Schools of Social Work, the International Council on Social Welfare, and the International Federation of Social Workers, is now seeking applicants for the editor-in-chief position. The position will be for a 4-year term with the possibility of a renewal for a maximum of a further 4 years. The closing date for receipt of applications is Sunday, April 15.

CSWE Member Testifies at House Committee Hearing on Opioids
On February 15 the House Committee on Education and The Workforce, Subcommittees on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions and Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, held a joint hearing titled “The Opioids Epidemic: Implications for America’s Workplaces.” Dr. Christina Andrews, professor of social policy at the College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina, testified as a witness at the hearing. Andrews emphasized the importance of access to treatment for individuals struggling with addiction and the challenges the epidemic presents for the nation’s economy.
CSWE Member Provides Immigration Policy Feedback in TIME Magazine
Luis H. Zayas, dean of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin, was quoted in TIME Magazine’s recent cover story regarding the immigration policy under the Trump administration and its impact on mixed-status immigrant families.
