CSWE Full Circle May 2014
Volume 2014, Issue 5
May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
As part of an ongoing commitment to address behavioral health concerns, the Council on Social Work’s Recovery to Practice Initiative has launched a series of webinars on mental health recovery and social work. These webinars are free for participants and offer continuing education credits. The next webinar, “Mental Health Recovery Competencies in Social Work,” will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 (1:00 pm–2:30 pm EDT) and will be facilitated by Patrick Sullivan (Indiana University) and Debbie Plotnick (Mental Health America).
“Mental Health Recovery Competencies in Social Work” is the second segment in a series of three recovery-related webinars, which will focus on the unique competencies that set recovery-oriented practice apart from other approaches (i.e., deficits-based, medical model). Social work field instructors, supervisors, faculty members, practitioners, and students are encouraged to register for the upcoming webinar here. If you are planning to participate in the webinar as a small group registered under one name, please contact recovery@cswe.org before the webinar for additional registration requirements.
