Educational Webinars Available On-Demand!

CSWE is offering a series of free, Web-based events that offer continuing education (CE) credit to introduce social workers to the recovery model.

CE Credit for On-Demand Webinars

Participants are eligible for one free CE credit for each on-demand webinar, through CSWE as an ACE provider, after successful completion of the on-demand course, including the prereading material assigned, a posttest, and an evaluation. The posttest and evaluation are administered online at the conclusion of the course. The CE certificate will be e-mailed to participants following their completion of the course requirements.

CSWE, provider #1163, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program.  Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine CE approval.

Recovery Curriculum Support Materials

CSWE released a number of recovery-oriented curriculum support materials for use by social work programs and practitioners. This is part of our Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) funded Recovery to Practice initiative.
The following resources are available:

History of CSWE RTP Initiative

CSWE was awarded a subcontract from SAMHSA to develop, implement, and evaluate mental health recovery-oriented training materials for social work educators and practitioners. The 5-year initiative increased the mental health recovery training resources available to social workers. This project was part of a larger initiative by SAMHSA to aid the behavioral health workforce.

We joined SAMHSA in recognizing that those with substance use or mental disorders can recover to lead meaningful, fulfilling, and healthy lives. As part of this outlook, CSWE signed a Recovery to Practice (RTP) Joint Resolution expressing its commitment to integrate the mental health recovery model within social work education and practice.
