National Social Work Voter Mobilization Campaign
The Voter Empowerment Campaign’s goal is for all social workers to include nonpartisan voter registration, education, and outreach as part of their professional responsibilities and practice, regardless of setting. The campaign urges faculty and schools of social work to include voter education in their curriculum and to give students the opportunity to gain skills and confidence by applying the concepts at their field placements, and it provides faculty guides, training PowerPoints, fact sheets, and other resources.

Student Hotspotting: Call for Applications
Sponsored by the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers, Primary Care Progress, the Association of American Medical Colleges, National Academies of Practices, Council on Social Work Education, and American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the Interprofessional Student Hotspotting Learning Collaborative is an annual program that trains interdisciplinary teams of students from schools around the country to apply a patient-centered approach in working with individuals with complex health and social needs. Applications for the 2018–2019 cohort are being accepted; the application deadline is April 26, 2018.
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Resources and Training Available Online
Online continuing education courses and resources on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) are available on CDC’s FASD Training and Resources website. NASW, CSWE, and University of Texas at Austin are national partners in CDC’s Collaborative for Alcohol-Free Pregnancy.
Smiles for Life Curriculum Modules Now Available
A new set of Smiles for Life curriculum modules has been created specifically for front line health workers, a growing workforce that plays an important role in addressing the oral health needs of their communities. The curriculum has been piloted in several states, bringing together various members of the community health-care team to connect knowledge, understanding, and skills for oral health integration.

CSWE Announces Recipients of the 2018 Professional Recognition Awards
CSWE is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2018 Professional Recognition Awards. The three awards are the Significant Lifetime Achievement in Social Work Education Award, the Distinguished Recent Contributions to Social Work Education Award, and the Service and Leadership in Social Work Education Award.
