WHO: Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and its Board of Directors
WHAT: Will recognize:
- Two 2014 CSWE Significant Lifetime Achievement in Social Work Education Award Recipients
- Michael Reisch, Daniel Thursz Distinguished Professor of Social Justice, School of Social Work, University of Maryland, Baltimore, is being recognized for his consistent and ongoing professional achievements and contributions to social work education, research, service, and practice.
- Lawrence Shulman, professor and dean emeritus at the School of Social Work, University at Buffalo, SUNY, is being recognized for his dedication to excellence in scholarship and research, pedagogy and curriculum development, and organizational leadership.
- The 2014 Distinguished Recent Contributions in Social Work Education Award Recipients
- William Elliott III, associate professor at the School of Social Welfare, University of Kansas, is being recognized for his scholarly productivity, pioneering research, and roles as teacher and mentor.
WHEN: Thursday, October 23 during the Opening Ceremony of the 2014 Annual Program Meeting
WHERE: Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, FL
WHY: Both awards recognize the achievements of CSWE members, based on their research and scholarship, pedagogy, curriculum development, and organizational leadership.
