Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and Developmental Neuroscience Task Force

10/18/2019

CSWE members are invited to participate in a national task force that will develop competencies and a curricular guide on infant and early childhood mental health and developmental neuroscience. This is a partnership project between CSWE and the Erikson Institute. The resulting  guide will be a part of the 2015 EPAS Curricular Guide Resource Series and serve as a resource for social work programs developing curricula in this area. We specifically invite social work education faculty members and practitioners with expertise in infant and early childhood mental health and developmental neuroscience to join the task force.

Task force members will be asked to participate in the following:

  • One of nine task force competency groups established to define the social work competencies
  • Virtual meetings in winter and early spring
  • Face-to-face meeting in Chicago at Erikson Institute April 3–4, 2020
  • Virtual meetings in summer 2020 to finalize competencies and curricular resources

Participants will be responsible for their own travel, hotel, and meals for the face-to-face meeting.

We hope to have representatives from as many programs as possible participate on the task force to reflect the depth and breadth of the social work approach to teaching infant and early childhood mental health and developmental neuroscience. Your program’s representative will have the opportunity to share expertise with colleagues and garner new insights to enrich your program’s curriculum. Task force members’ names and institutions will be listed in the published guide.

If you have any questions, please contact Jessica Holmes or Jo Ann Regan.
