- Arizona
- Arizona State University—The CEO of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Angelo McClain, will be in Phoenix to celebrate the Social Work Month and to announce the new leader of the NASW Arizona chapter. The university is also hosting an advocacy day for students with Arizona’s Secretary of State as keynote speaker. Secretary Hobbs is a social worker and alumni of the Arizona State University social work program. He serves as the No. 2 state official in Arizona (under the governor). - Canada
- The Royal Mental Health Centre is showcasing practice-based social work research that’s been presented at various conferences. They are also having an education day focusing on compassion fatigue. Learn more here.
- District of Columbia
- Congressional Research Institute for Social Work and Policy (CRISP)
- March 19—Participate in the 2019 Student Advocacy Day on the Hill and meet hundreds of social work students from across the country for an exciting day in the nation’s capital. Learn more and register here.
- March 20—Join CRISP for the 5th Annual Social Work Day on the Hill to salute the many contributions social workers have made (and continue to make) to the wellbeing of our nation through their work in Congress and the federal government. Meet and greet social workers from all walks of life, including elected officials, policymakers, educators, and practitioners. Learn more.
- National Academies of Practice (NAP)—Six social workers were inducted into the National Academy of Practice in Social Work at the 2019 NAP Annual Meeting and Forum on March 9.
- National Association of Social Workers (NASW)—NASW names the theme each year for Social Work Month. Their website includes a variety of tools and information on how to celebrate the month and start important conversations about social work. - Social Work Healthcare Education & Leadership Scholars (HEALS) Student Policy Summit—The 2019 Social Work HEALS Student Policy Summit is in Washington, DC, on March 12-13. HEALS students travel from across the country to meet in our nation's capital to learn about healthcare policy, legislation, and advocacy as well as attend meetings with representatives from their respective states. - Indiana
- Indiana University School of Social Work is holding a social work meme contest on Facebook. Share a meme or gif that reflects how you feel about social work and is related to the #ElevateSocialWork theme. Join the contest and view the entries here.

- Maine State Representative Lori K. Gramlich introduced a joint resolution in the Maine legislature honoring Social Work Month and recognizing all five of Maine’s schools of social work: Saint Joseph's College, University of Maine, University of Maine at Presque Isle, University of New England, and University of Southern Maine. - University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill—UNC Chapel Hill School of Social Work students attended an advocacy day organized by the NASW North Carolina Chapter (NASW-NC) at the North Carolina General Assembly. Students met with social worker and State Rep. Graig Meyers and NASW-NC Executive Director Valerie Ardent.

- Ohio
- The University of Dayton Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Works is elevating students, faculty, and friends by hosting a social event at the climbing wall at the campus recreation center on March 22. See this flyer for additional details.
- Oklahoma
- The Oral Roberts University Social Work Program invited News on 6 (a local news station in Tulsa, OK) to a child welfare class that highlighted students' work on using virtual reality to prepare for field education. Click here to read the media coverage.

- Millersville University
- March 18—Monica Williams, a Millersville graduate, author, and founder of Women Empowering Women to be Women of Truth, will speak about her new book, How I Learned to Love God and Her. The first 10 students to register will receive a copy of her book for free. Learn more here.
- March 27—The School of Social Work's Learning Institute will hold a training called Serving our Newest Residents: Cultural Awareness and Sensitivity in Addressing Mental Wellbeing. This training will provide FREE CEUs in honor of Social Work Month. Get your tickets here.
- NASW Pennsylvania Chapter—On March 25, NASW-PA will host Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD), an annual event at which nearly 1,000 social work students and professionals gather to advocate for legislation that is relevant to the social work profession. Attendees visit their legislators throughout the day and tell them why such legislation is important and how it will serve the Commonwealth. Learn more and register here.
- Shippensburg University
- March 21—The Gerontology Progam will be hosting an event with the Pennsylvania Department of Aging to discuss older adult protective services. Learn more.
- March 25—Shippensburg students are also participating in a field trip to NASW-PA's LEAD in Harrisburg.
- March 27—The Deptartment of Social Work and Gerontology will be hosting a panel of alumni and social workers from the community that will talk about their experiences and social work journey. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions, better understand the profession, hear stories of those in the field, and connect with local social workers. Learn more or view the flyer here.
- South Carolina
- University of South Carolina (USC)—College of Social Work students and alumni will explain why they chose to study or pursue a career in social work. Follow USC College of Social Work on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to hear their stories. Four USC students also traveled to Washington, DC, to participate in the Social Work Healthcare Education & Leadership Scholars (HEALS) Student Policy Summit.

- University of Houston (UH)—UH Graduate College of Social Work students traveled to the the NASW Texas Chapter' Social Work Advocacy Day at the Capitol in Austin to meet fellow social workers, alumni, and social work students.
- University of Texas (UT) at Austin —The Steve Hicks School of Social Work - UT Austin is sharing a video on social work and what social workers do. The school is also featuring local social workers like Sara Green-Otero, students, and alumni using #UTSocialWorkMonth on Twitter and Facebook. View the full schedule of March events here.
- Virginia
- CSWE—Here at CSWE we are interviewing CSWE staff social workers, telling their journey to the social work field, and sharing what they love most about social work. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to learn more about our staff and their stories.
- George Mason University
- March 26—Join the Deptartment of Social Work, in collaboration with the U.S. Public Health Services Social Work Group and the Potomac Health Foundation, for a day-long conference called Behavioral Health: New Challenges and Opportunities. - To kick off Social Work Month, the Department of Social Work hosted a hot cocoa bar and button-making event for students to show their social work pride and educate others at the university about social work.
