Impacting the Community by Preparing Social Workers

3/12/2010

In honor of National Social Work Month, the CSWE Gero-Ed Center celebrates the achievements of the Resource Review Chairs and Cochairs of the Master’s Advanced Curriculum (MAC) Project for their important work in preparing social workers for the challenges of our aging society.

This year, National Social Work Month recognizes social workers who inspire community action and work to change the system to improve lives. The Resource Review Chairs and Cochairs, under the leadership of Sadhna Diwan and Nancy Hooyman, have helmed a project that created extensive free resources for educators to use in training students to work with older adults in the fields of health, mental health, and aging. This contribution to the field of social work will help the profession continue to have a positive impact on the lives of the one of the fastest growing populations in the United States.
