Six Program Elements

HPPAE employs an innovative training model that recruits students who will go on to pursue careers in the aging field. The model offers unique training in geriatric social work competencies and leadership skills that help MSW students learn how to navigate complex systems of care.

A central feature of the HPPAE model is the university–community partnerships that emphasize the importance of field education and expand training through a unique rotational model. The model enhances leadership roles for field directors, instructors, students, and agencies. There are six essential components to the model:
