Continuing Education
CSWE is pleased to offer continuing education credits (CEs) for eligible APM sessions. CSWE is approved as a CE provider by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program*. For the 2018 APM the Field Education Institute, the Teaching Institute for Early Career Faculty, and interactive workshops, and panels meet the ACE guidelines for CE eligibility.
To receive CEs, participants are required to comply with the following:
- Register for CEs. CEs are not included in the basic APM registration package. You can add CEs to a new or existing APM registration here. A $65 processing fee is required.
- Scan your badge in and out of eligible sessions. The 2018 APM will use iPad scanners to track attendance at CE sessions. You must scan your badge in and out of each session to receive credit. If you do not attend the session for a minimum of 50 minutes for each hour of presentation, your attendance will not qualify.
- Submit written evaluations for each session. Certificates cannot be processed until we verify your attendance and receive completed evaluation forms for each session you attended. You can download and submit session evaluations here.
A catalogue of all eligible CE sessions, including session times, learning objectives, and speaker details is can be viewed here. Sessions that offer CEs are noted in the conference program and mobile app with the CE icon.
Please note that, although ACE provider CEs are accepted by most U.S. state licensing boards, the final authority for approving any continuing education activity rests with the social work board of the state where you are licensed. Even those states that accept ACE approval may have exceptions in terms of courses they will accept. You are responsible for ensuring that CE sessions they attend are eligible for credit with their state licensing board. E-mail CEsatAPM@cswe.org with any questions.
*The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), provider #1163, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program from January 23, 2018 to January 23, 2021. CSWE maintains responsibility for the program.
