Intergenerational Relationships: A Tool to Closing the Health Gap
Friday, October 20, 10:30 am–11:30 am
Dallas Ballroom A-2, Conference Center, 1st Floor

Evidence suggests that intergenerational relationships developed through avenues such as caregiving, multigenerational households, mentoring, and volunteering can have a positive and significant impact on individual health.  Such relationships are important tools in addressing two of the Social Work Grand Challenges: Ensuring Healthy Development for All Youths and Closing the Health Gap.  Moderator Robin Bonifas (Arizona State University) and panelists Stacey Kolomer (University of North Carolina-Wilmington), Victoria Rizzo (Binghamton University), Sara Sanders (University of Iowa), and Cheryl Waites (Wayne State University) will discuss aspects of intergenerational relationships to address these important Grand Challenges.
