Eldercare Workforce Alliance
CSWE, through the Gero-Ed Center, is an active member of the national Eldercare Workforce Alliance (EWA), composed of 30 associations representing consumers, families, direct care workers, and health care professionals from a wide range of disciplines.
EWA aims to improve quality of life for older adults and their families, address workforce shortages, and provide quality, culturally sensitive, person-directed, family-focused care. Believing that a strong eldercare workforce is central to real health care reform, EWA seeks to mobilize its constituencies to influence federal policies related to geriatric workforce development and care coordination. The Gero-Ed Center informs CSWE members of action alerts relevant to the geriatric workforce and long-term care.
