CSWE Assessment Academy

The 2017–2018 CSWE Assessment Academy is tailored for social work programs interested in developing an ongoing commitment to assessing and improving student learning. Participants are presented with new ideas and techniques for influencing an assessment culture, increasing capacity to assess student learning, and using assessment data to improve student learning. The academy will feature online and in-person workshops focused on social work competency and implicit curriculum assessment tools. 

Registration* must be completed through the CSWE Learning Academy and includes access to the following:

  • In-person workshops following the CSWE 2017 Annual Program Meeting in Dallas, TX, from 1:00 pm–4:00 pm CT on Sunday, October 22, 2017 (presentations will be archived in the Learning Academy following the APM)
  • A series of live webinars in spring 2018 featuring assessment approaches of different social work programs
The APM workshops will allow participants to choose between three sets of two concurrent workshops focused on topics related to assessment that feature perspectives from invited assessment experts, social work programs, CSWE's Commission on Accreditation, and accreditation staff. Participants can rotate between sessions on the hour.

2:00-3:00 PM Assessment of Competencies in Field Education OR Measuring Competence in Field Settings: Improving Reliability and Validity Understanding 2015 EPAS Competency Assessment The Importance of Curriculum and Assessment Synchronicity 
3:00-4:00 PM Implicit Curriculum Assessment Understanding 2015 EPAS Competency Assessment Using Bloom’s Taxonomy to create competency based assessments


*APM registration does not include access to the 2017–2018 CSWE Assessment Academy. Participants must register through the Learning Academy. Although on-site registration will be available, participants can receive a $25 discount by registering before October 2017 with code "AAEarlyBird."
