The Council on Global Learning, Research, and Practice (CGLRP), one of the councils under the CSWE Commission on Global Social Work Education, has been charged by CSWE with helping social work programs incorporate global content into their curricula. In addition, CGLRP is responsible for developing guidelines for establishing international programs for social work students that meet not only the CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards but also the Global Standards for the Education and Training of the Social Work Profession established by the International Association of Schools of Social Work and the International Federation of Social Workers. Therefore, these general Study Abroad Guidelines are offered for social work programs to use in planning international study opportunities for their students.
