AERA Dissertation and Research Grants Now Accepting Applications

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) Grants Program is currently accepting applications for both dissertation and research grants until January 24, 2014. Applications are encouraged from a variety of disciplines, such as but not limited to, education, sociology, economics, psychology, demography, statistics, and psychometrics.

Mental Health Essays Wanted for New Book Anthology

For an upcoming mental health anthology, In Fact Books seeks essays by writers with insight into the nature and experience of profound psychiatric challenges—as patients, mental health professionals, or both. Scientific information should be balanced by the writer’s unique perspective, and the stories should combine a strong and compelling narrative with an informative or reflective element, reaching beyond a strictly personal experience for some universal or deeper meaning; the submission deadline is March 1, 2014.

NCWWI Releases Request for Proposals

The National Child Welfare Workforce Institute (NCWWI) has released a Request for Proposals for its University Partnerships program. All accredited social work programs are encouraged to review the proposal and consider a submission in partnership with a state, county, or tribal child welfare director.

UNM Doctoral Fellowship Program

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Center for Health Policy at the University of New Mexico invites applications for the Doctoral Fellowship program. This prestigious program is for PhD students with educational and research interests that include health and health policy analysis and research; the application deadline is January 15, 2014.

Satcher Health Policy Fellowship Program Seeks Applicants

The Satcher Health Leadership Institute at Morehouse School of Medicine is currently recruiting applicants for the 2014–2015 Health Policy Leadership Fellowship Program. The multi-disciplinary training program provides postdoctoral professionals with the experiences and skills to promote and implement policies and practices that reduce health disparities and advance health equity; the application deadline is January 17, 2014.
