New Training Resource for Working With Tribal Families

The Child Welfare Information Gateway has added a new resource for working with American Indian and Alaska Native Foster Families. Circle of Keepers: Voices of Native American Foster Care Warriors, by the Mountains and Plains Child Welfare Implementation Center and the Shawnee Area Native American Child Protection Team, offers a training curriculum developed to specifically incorporate Native American cultural traditions, beliefs, and practices to better meet the needs of the Native American children in foster care with the hope of finding healing through culture and helping to preserve their connection with Native American heritage.

New Resource From The National Academies Press

Strategies for Scaling Effective Family-Focused Preventive Interventions to Promote Children's Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Health is the summary of a workshop convened by the Institute of Medicine Forum on Promoting Children's Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Health to explore effective preventive interventions for youth that can modify risk and promote protective factors that are linked to mental, emotional, and behavioral health, and how to apply this existing knowledge.

Children’s Bureau Adds New Videos to Virtual Summit Series

In continuation of the Child Welfare Evaluation Virtual Summit Series, the Children's Bureau is pleased to announce the release of a five-part video series: A Framework to Design, Test, Spread, and Sustain Effective Practice in Child Welfare. Each video in the Child Welfare Evaluation Virtual Summit Series tackles an evaluation-related topic, and many propose solutions to common evaluation problems and direct viewers to additional tools and resources.
