CSWE Honors Domestic Violence, Prison Hospice Films
Between Worlds: Immigrant Women and Domestic Violence (Regina Austin, Shikha Bhattacharjee, Tsedey Bogale, and Tarun Sridharan, Penn Law) has won the CSWE 2014 Virtual Ovation Award from the CSWE 2014 Virtual Film Festival, which featured student-produced films related to social work.
Prison Terminal: The Last Days of Private Jack Hall (dir. Edgar Barens, UIC Jane Addams College of Social Work), an Oscar-nominated film on prison hospice, has won the CSWE 2014 Audience Choice Award from the 2014 Film Festival at APM.

Social work educators can now consult a new flyer that organizes films in all CSWE film festivals by topic and includes links to trailers. Some sample subjects are African American issues, aging, disability, homelessness, LGBT issues, mental health, military, refugees, sexual abuse, and sex trafficking.
