Morgan McCrory
Morgan McCrory is a second-year MSW student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore City. She will graduate in May 2020.
In 2013 Ms. McCrory received an undergraduate degree in middle level education from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to beginning the MSW program, she worked with educational nonprofits and taught third grade in Washington, DC, and Maryland. She currently works at the Prince George’s County Child Advocacy Center supporting workers who are investigating child sex abuse cases, including conducting safety assessment plans, collecting minimal facts, and supporting forensic interviews. Ms. McCrory also teaches yoga in Washington, DC, studios, schools, and community centers.
Ms. McCrory completed an internship with the Montgomery County, Maryland, Family Preservation Unit, where she partnered with families to devise safety plans, helped connect families with resources, and conducted safety assessments.
After graduation Ms. McCrory hopes to continue working with children and families. More specifically, she would like to continue working with a child advocacy center either in Prince George’s County or at the Tree House in Montgomery County.
Audra Attaway
Audra Attaway is a senior social work student at Northern Arizona University, Yuma Branch Campus (NAU Yuma), in Yuma, Arizona. She began an internship with Community Health Associates, North End Community Connections, in September 2019. As a Targeted Investment Program, North End Community Connections serves individuals transitioning from the justice system to the community from probation and parole. Ms. Attaway works with intake assessors, case managers, and medical staff in addition to Yuma County Adult Probation to facilitate smooth reentry for all members enrolled in the Targeted Investment Program.
Prior to entering the BASW program at NAU Yuma, Ms. Attaway worked as a special education instructional assistant for 6 years with students ranging from preschool to 8th grade. Her social work interests include macro practice, feminist theory, and advocating for underserved populations on the U.S.-Mexico border. In addition to a career in academia, Ms. Attaway’s future aspirations include working for organizations that uplift and change the lives of underserved individuals through legislative action. Ms. Attaway plans to enter an advanced standing MSW program with a concentration in administration and policy practice in summer 2020.
